If the moon is spotted, the holy month of Ramzan or Ramadan will commence and the first roza or fast would be observed from tomorrow. Muslims in Kolkata, West Bengal, Assam will be on the lookout for the crescent moon from Sunday evening. The Hilal committees across the globe as well as in India will be on the lookout for the crescent moon and will accept testimonies from citizens if they report on any moon sighting. If the crescent moon is spotted today, on Sunday in India, the fast will commence from tomorrow, Monday.
However, if the crescent moon is sighted in India on Monday evening or night, the fasting will begin in the country on Tuesday.
