If the moon is spotted, the holy month of Ramzan or Ramadan will commence and the first roza or fast would be observed from tomorrow. Muslims in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand will be on the lookout for the crescent moon from Sunday evening. The Hilal committees across the globe as well as in India will be on the lookout for the crescent moon and will accept testimonies from citizens if they report on any moon sighting. If the crescent moon is spotted today, on Sunday in India, the fast will commence from tomorrow, Monday.
However, if the crescent moon is sighted in India on Monday evening or night, the fasting will begin in the country on Tuesday.
The Holy Ramadan or Ramzan would begin as and when the Hilal committees testifies or the citizens and individuals confirm that they have spotted the moon. Muslims all over the world are duty bound to abstain from food and water between dawn to dusk throughout the next 29 or 30 days.
