All brothers and sisters observe the ceremony with affection, respect, faith and deep wish for mutual wellness.

In Surat, gold rakhis with faces of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani had become a rage ahead of the festival. 22-carat gold rakhis costing between Rs. 50, 000 and Rs. 70, 000 were being sold like hot cakes at a jewellery store in Gujarat. 24-carat gold sweets have also become popular in the city. A shop named 24 Carats Mithai Magic had been selling 'Gold Sweets' for Rs 9,000 per kg in Surat.
