On March 21, 2019, the world is celebrating Parsi festival Nowruz. The Nowruz, which means "new day", is the Iranian New year also known as Persian New Year. The festival is celebrated by Parsis across the globe by wearing new clothes and preparing sweets. On an auspicious day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Indian National Congress President Rahul Gandhi, President Ram Nath Kovind, Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah among others extended their wishes to everyone.

Meanwhile, this year, the festival of colours, Holi and Navroz are being celebrated on the same day. The Iranian New year has been celebrated for over 3,000 years. The festival which remains a secular holiday most of the faiths but remains an auspicious day for Zoroastrians, Bahais, and some Muslim communities.
