Navratri Day 1 - October 3 - Goddess Shailputri - Yellow

The first day of Navratri is dedicated to Goddess Shailputri - also known as the daughter of the mountain. Goddess Shailputri is an avatar of Goddess Parvati considered to be the direct incarnation of Mahakali. The Goddess represents vigour and action, which is depicted by the colour yellow.

Navratri Day 2 - October 4 - Goddess Brahmacharini - Green

On the second day of Navratri 2024, Goddess Brahmacharini is revered. In this form, Parvati became Yogini, her unmarried self. Goddess Brahmacharini is believed to be a symbol of bliss and calm and is represented by the colour green.

Navratri Day 3 - October 5 - Maa Chandraghanta - Grey

The last day of Navratri is marked by offering prayers to Goddess Siddhidatri.  Sitting on a lotus, she is believed to possess and bestow all types of siddhis. The celebration of this day is made more special by dressing up in purple - portrays an admiration towards nature's beauty.
