Navaratri, also known as Sharadiya Navratri, is one of the most auspicious Hindu festivals celebrated in India that is dedicated to Goddess Durga, an aspect of Adi Parashakti, the supreme goddess. The festival spans over nine nights (and ten days) and culminates on the tenth day with Dussehra or Vijaya Dashami. In 2023, Sharadiya Navratri 2023 will begin on October 15 with Ghatasthapana and end with Dussehra or Vijaya Dashami on October 24. During the Navratri festival, all nine forms of the Goddess are worshipped with great devotion. The auspicious festival falls first in the month of Chaitra, which corresponds to March/April of the Gregorian calendar and again in the month of Ashvin, which corresponds to the month of September–October.
