Search engine giant Google marked Memorial Day with a special button on its homepage that will play the "Taps" bugle call and folded American flag. People visit cemeteries and memorials remember martyrs and offer their respects. On Memorial Day, Google homepage is updated with a light grey version of the company’s logo. If you search 'memorial day' on the search tab, an American flag banner becomes visible just below the app bar. Memorial Day was originally known as Decoration Day. The observance began in the Civil War days. In 1970, it became a federal holiday. The Civil War in the United States began in 1861 and went on till 1865. It was among the deadliest wars that were fought on the American soil with over millions of soldiers killed.
