Mahashivratri is considered to be one of the most significant festival in India. The event is celebrated in full swing on February 13, 2018, and will extend until February 14. Shivbhakts observe long-day fast, chant shiv mantras and offer prayers before the shivling. These sacred practises bestow a sense of peace and oneness within the devotees. Mahashivratri occurs in the late winter and before the arrival of summer which literally means, the 'Great Night of Shiva’. The keen devotees stay awake all night while others visit Shiva temples to offer a sacred holy bath to the shivling.

Every year, the prominent shrines of Lord Shiva witness various pilgrims rejoicing the Shiv chants. The mere invocation of ‘Om Namaha Shivaya’ and 'Har Har Mahadev Shiv Shambhu' is powerful enough to send you into a trance, in meditation, in absolute divinity. To mark the event with grace, the popular Indian yogi and mystic, Jaggi Vasudev who is known as Sadhguru welcome the Shivbhakts to enjoy the sacred festival nights. The exuberant night-long will set the ideal ambience for the unfolding of an intense spiritual experience.
