Mumbai, September 7: It is the seventh day of the Ganeshotsav 2019, and the enthusiasm of devotees is increasing with every day. Lagbaugcha Raja is one of the famous Ganpati pandals of Mumbai. This year, it followed the Chandrayaan-2 theme. The first look of Lalbaugcha Raja was revealed on August 30, two days before Ganesh Chaturthi. This year, the Lalbaugcha Raja Ganpati entered 85 years. The Ganeshotsav 2019 celebrations began on Monday, September 2, with the installation of the Ganesh Idol and will continue till September 12. In Mumbai, every lane has its own Mandal which celebrate the homecoming of Lord Ganesh. Many people also install Ganpati idol at their homes. Individual Ganpati is immersed in water on the second, fifth, seventh and the tenth day of the festival. But, the immersion of Ganesh idol of public pandals always takes place on the tenth day. Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal, previously known as Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal, Lalbaug was founded in 1934 at Lalbaug Market. The 86-year-old idol is believed to be Navsacha Ganpati, means the "one who fulfils all wishes". For almost nine decades, it has been managed by the Kambli family.
