The joyous occasion is celebrated with great religious fervour as devotees throng various Ganesha temples to offer special prayers. The Mukh Darshan (face view of the deity) will be available all throughout the day for 24 hours. Lal Bagcha Raja, known as the King of Lalbaug, is the most famous Sarvajanik Ganapati kept at Lalbaug in Mumbai during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival. The idol is kept for public display for 11 days, following which the idol is immersed in the Arabian sea at Girgaum Chowpatty on Anant Chaturdashi.
