The Lalbaugcha Raja Ganpati was first installed on September 12, 1934, and is known as "one who fulfils all wishes". The first look of Mumbai’s most popular Ganesha idol was revealed on September 11.

Ganesh Chaturthi, which was celebrated yesterday, marks the birth of Lord Ganesha (Elephant God). On this day begins the 11-day Ganesh Utsav, during which devotees bring idols of Ganesha home or at Pandals and hold prayers.
