Akin to Vat Savitri, which was celebrated on June 6, Vat Purnima is a festival wherein women fast for a day for their husband’s well-being and long life. The key difference, though, is that Vat Purnima is celebrated on Jyestha Purnima (full moon night) while Vat Savitri is celebrated on Jyestha Amavasya (new moon night). June 21 is significant for India's global recognition as it is celebrated as International Yoga Day. Originating in India, yoga is now practised worldwide as a popular form of physical activity.
