The first week of the month will see major celebrations in the form of Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti on January 2. It is a Sikh festival that commemorates the birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth Guru of the Sikhs. Tailang Swami Jayanti will be commemorated on January 6. Pausha Putrada Ekadashi Vrat dedicated to Lord Vishnu will also take place on January 6. Among significant national and international observances are Global Family Day (January 1), World Braille Day (January 4), National Bird Day and National Keto Day (January 5).
