If the child is less than two years old, you can skip the kurta and just stick to the dhoti, he will look adorable. Make sure to buy cotton clothes with minimum design to avoid hurting your little Krishna. If you know want to experiment with a DIY dhoti, you can use a yellow dupatta.

Make your toddler look like a prince just like Lord Krishna by making him wear a mukut. The attire is incomplete with a mukut. Readymade mukuts are available in the markets or even online. Attach a peacock feather to the mukut with the help of a tape. You can also make a mukut at home using card paper and embellish it with lace. Secure it comfortably so that it doesnā€™t hurt your baby. If you wish to avoid the mukut, you can tie a tiny pony and attach the peacock feather to it.

3. Flute

The Krishna look is complete without a flute or basuri. Ensure the flute is safe for your baby to chew on if he is less than two years old. Decorate the flute with colourful satin lace and add glitter to it. A small rounded stick will also suffice if you do not wish to purchase a flute.

To add the finishing touches for your adorable little Krishna avatar, adorn him with jewellery. One can use pearl necklaces, arm band or baaju bandh, waistbands (optional) and anklets. Since the festival of Raksha Bandhan was celebrated a few days ago, you can even use Rakhi as a baaju bandh. It is important to use light-weight jewellery that does not hurt or create any rashes on your childā€™s sensitive skin. Do not over accessorise and keep it simple.

For older kids, you can use blue colour to paint your Krishnaā€™s face and some body parts, although it is best to avoid for younger babies. To create a blue paint, you can mix a little blue food colour with your babyā€™s moisturiser. To capture the adorable moments of your child as Krishna, place a matka (pot) filled with butter besides him. When using artificial jewellery, watch out for any allergic reaction. Dress your baby when he is fully rested and is well fed to avoid any cranky situation. Also, do not force your baby if he is uncomfortable. This Krishna Janmashtami dress your child as Lord Krishna and everyone will be mesmerised with the charming makhan chor.
