Jagannath Rath Yatra is a widely celebrated festival among Indians. Lakhs of people gather at the Jagannath Temple in Odisha’s Puri to seek blessings of Lord Jagannath, which is one of the forms of Lord Vishnu. Lord Jagannath means Lord of the Universe. His name derives from Sanskrit words Jagan meaning Universe and Nath meaning Lord. The Jagannath Puri Yatra festival shows the journey of the Lord, his annual visit to the Gundicha Mata Temple, which is located in Puri. Lord Jagannath is said to take rest at this temple for 8 days and returns back. The Jagannath Yatra 2018 is set to begin on July 14, and the return of the Lord to the temple known as Bahuda Jatra will be on July 23, 2018. This year it will be the 141st Rath Yatra.

Devotees come in huge number to get a glimpse of the chariot or just to touch it. The chariot carries the idols of three deities Lord Jagannath, his brother Lord Balabhadra and sister Goddess Subhadra. People all over the country cannot make it to Odisha to be a part of the auspicious procession. Similar processions are thus organised in Ahmedabad and Kolkata. But if you do not want to miss the actual happenings from Odisha, you can always see the live streaming.
