It is International Women’s Day and people in every corner of the world are celebrating womanhood in their own unique way. Some are recollecting the memories women went through to achieve their own space at the public sphere, while others have their plan set for the evenings to have a perfect girls night out. And since it is Women’s Day, popular brands cannot sit aback. They are promoting equality using unique and less sexist approach through advertisements, offers & discounts and of course trending hashtags on social media. But what your favourite fast food eatery has done will surprise you. We are talking about McDonald’s! The brand is celebrating International Women’s Day 2018 with a big gleaming, W.

Yes, in order to celebrate and respect the momentous day, McDonald’s will flip all the Golden Arches at 100 locations around the United States on March 8, 2018. And not just that! Reportedly, in another US locations where 100 restaurant chains McDonald’s employees will wear special hats and shirts. McDonald’s Chief Diversity Officer Wendy Lewis, was quoted in media reports saying, “For the first time in our brand history, we flipped our iconic arches.” He further said that the brand is flipping its logo “in honour of the extraordinary accomplishments of women everywhere.”

Yes, it may not solve gender equality, but such step talks about the brand’s commitment to empowerment. And all we know, that right now the giant arches have been physically flipped at just one restaurant in California. We are eager to see as the upside-down arches will replace right-side up arches across McDonald’s digital channel. In fact, the brand has already flipped the logo on their official Twitter page. So, ladies drop the strain, support and cherish womankind together!
