International Tea day is celebrated on 15th of December every year. The day may sound like it is meant for sipping on some tea and thanking God for this amazing beverage- while that is also true, the real reason International Tea Day is observed is more than that. The day is dedicated to the tea workers, the people who make it possible for the tea to reach your cups. It all started with a campaign, launched in 2005 by the trade unions, small tea growers and civil society organisations in Asia and Africa. The drive intended to address the issues of living wages for tea workers and also fair prices for small tea producers.
