The friends' dinner gave rise to World Friendship Crusade. World Friendship Crusade is a foundation that promotes friendship and care among all humans regardless of their race, religion, ethnicity. Ever since that day, Paraguay celebrates Friendship Day on July 30. On April 27, 2011, the General Assembly of the United Nations designated July 30 for the International Friendship Day. According to the UN, the day is based on the recognition of the relevance and importance of friendship in one’s life. Friendship is considered a noble and valuable sentiment in every person’s life. Many countries have their own dates to celebrate friendship. In Argentina, Uruguay and Brasil Friendship Day is celebrated on July 20. They celebrate Friendship by meeting friends and going out with old friends In Bangladesh, Malaysia, UAE and India, the day is celebrated on the first Sunday of August. The citizens celebrate this day by tying friendship bands on each other’s wrists and sending greetings via text messages. In Bolivia, the day occurs on July 23. Venezuela, Ecuador and Mexico celebrate Friendship’s Day on the same day they celebrate love, on February 14. The USA celebrates their friends on February 15, except for the state of Ohio that celebrates it on April 8.
Though the day has different days for celebration, it was made to understand the importance of each friend and treasure the bond you share with each friend. Every friend is different and July 30 is made for all of them.
