If you love Mexican cuisine then Nachos have to be on your favourite food item list. This crunchy snack has found its popularity all over the globe and to mark its first making back in 1943, an International Day of the Nacho is marked on October 21. The making of chips also has an interesting story. Today even the non-Mexican restaurants serve Nachos on their menu as it is loved by everyone. And what better way to mark this celebration without preparing some nacho recipes yourselves? So on International Day of the Nacho 2019, we give you some best recipes of making nachos.

Nachos first appeared in Piedras Negras, a small Mexican city which is very near to the U.S. military base Fort Duncan, in Texas. A group of wives of army soldiers had gone shopping together and decided to stop by for dinner. All restaurants were closed by then. A restaurateur named Ignacio “Nacho” Anaya, did not want to disappoint them and cooked something special for them. He sliced and fried some tortilla chips, covered them with shredded cheddar and sliced jalapeños. He put this concoction in the oven for a couple of minutes and the very first Nachos were made! The ladies liked it too much and called it "Nacho's especiales." Over the years, the dish only remained as Nacho and has reached internationally.

Each year on International Day of the Nacho, annual nacho making competitions are held to celebrate. People have adopted and made different recipes of the dish. We also give you some Nacho recipes that you can try and mark this day.
