The prominent government buildings in the capital wore a colourful look. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort. Unfolding the national flag, crowds of people sing the national anthem Jana Gana Mana which was played in 1947 at the United Nations to mark India’s entry. Not just popular spots, but every society, schools and colleges will host Independence Day function to honour leaders of the independence movement.
