Mumbai, May 18: People of Muslim community observe Roza (a type of fasting) during the holy month of Ramzan. This year, the holy month of Ramadan ul-Kareem began on May in the Indian subcontinent. Large parts in India where people in the Muslim community were able to sight the crescent moon on 29th Sha’aban began their fasting on Thursday (May 17); however, whosoever wasn’t able to sight it began their fasting from Friday, today. On May 19, Saturday, the Sehri timings in New Delhi will end at 03.59 am. After this, the people in Muslim community who observe Roza are then duty-bound to restrict themselves from consuming water and food. Those Muslims who are observing the fast can only break their fast at dusk, which is referred to as Iftar. For the people in the National Capital Region (NCR), their Iftar timing will begin at 07.07 pm.
For the people residing in Mumbai, their Sehri would end on Saturday morning at 04.42 am. For them, they could relieve themselves from fasting, at their Iftari time, i.e. 07.07 pm – same as in New Delhi, on the same day.
