Look at some common English words and their translations in Hindi:
Cricket
Cricket is such a commonly used word given it is the favourite sport of the people here. But someone would think twice about playing the game if they made it compulsory to say the Hindi actual word.
A light bulb in Hindi translates to Vidyut Prakashak Kanch Golak. If someone uses it in a conversation it would surely not light a bulb in our heads at least.
Railway Train
A railway train in Hindi means Sahasra Chakra Louh Path Gaamini. Doesn't the word just look like a long train of words?
Railway Station
If railway train wasn't too complicated, you can expect a railway station to be just as funny. A railway station in Hindi means Bhakbhak Adda. Given that the earlier railway trains, the steam engines made a sound like that, a station can be no less surprising.
Mosquito
A mosquito is called Gunjanhaari Manav Rakt Pipasu Jeev in Hindi. Funny right? How a tiny creature has such a big name.
Tie
Tie in Hindi is called Kanth Langoti. This is so literal! A tie is meant to cover the neck so it does act like a langot (cloth worn as underwear) for your throat, in a way.
All these words are the proper translations of the common words. Yes, there are other optional words in Hindi usage that exist but these are not wrong either. Wonder, who would be using these right? But that's the very beauty of a language. Imagine going around talking like this and get those weird stares from people. Try it out on the occasion of Hindi Diwas.
