Many people visit temples and offer prayers to Lord Rama, seeking his blessings for a prosperous and virtuous life. Colourful processions with idols of deities, music, and dance are common during Dussehra. In some regions, people take out processions with idols of the goddess Durga to mark her victory over the demon Mahishasura.
