Among other traditional rituals and celebrations are the serving of the Langar and Prabhat Pheri. Langar is a free community meal which is prepared by the volunteers at most Gurudwaras and served to people as a form of seva (service) and devotion. On the day of Gurpurab, people gather in their nearby Gurudwaras early morning for Prabhat Pheri. Prabhat means morning and Pheri means rounds. Devotees take early morning rounds in and around their society and sing devotional songs and recite prayers from the Granth. The Gurpurab celebrations are held with great enthusiasm and zeal at Golden Temple, Amritsar. We wish everyone a Happy Guru Nanak Jayanti 2018!
