This year the state of Maharashtra will again enjoy the traditional Gudi Padwa Shobha Yatra on 2nd April 2022. Gudi Padwa is the Maharashtrian Hindu festival which marks the beginning of New Year. Leading this procession are groups of Maharashtrian women riding the Royal Enfield bikes by wearing the authentic nauvari saree and traditional accessories.

Gudi Padwa marks the beginning of a New Year for the Maharashtrian population. For Konkani Hindus, too, the day marks the traditional New Year date. This year, Gudi Padwa will be celebrated on Saturday, 2nd April. The festival is observed in and around Maharashtra, Goa, and the union territory of Daman on the first day of the Chaitra month. People start the preparation for welcoming new beginnings weeks ahead of the Gudi Padwa day.
