New Delhi, August 26: Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir on Sunday posted a picture on micro blogging site Twitter which has been winning hearts. The cricketer, on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, got a rakhi tied by two of the proud members of the transgender community and posted a positive message along with it.
“It’s not about being a man or a woman. It’s about being a HUMAN.” With proud transgenders Abhina Aher and Simran Shaikh and their Rakhi love on my hand. I’ve accepted them as they are. Will you?" said Gambhir in his tweet. Watch the pictures in the tweet below:

In the past few years, Gambhir has not shied away from taking a stand on national political issues. In September last year, he had announced that he would be sponsoring the education of slain Kashmiri cop’s daughter, Zohra, for the lifetime. In a similar gesture of generosity, he had announced that he would bear education expenses of the children of 25 CRPF personnel killed in an ambush by Maoists in Sukma in April 2017.
If reports are to be believed, the Indian cricketer is set to join Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Reportedly, Gambhir may contest on BJP’s ticket in the forthcoming Lok Sabha from a Delhi constituency. Gambhir is yet to react on news of him joining politics and has not commented on the issue.
