1. Lalbaugcha Raja
This is one of the most iconic and most popular Ganesh Pandals in Mumbai. It's known for its grandeur and attracts millions of devotees during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival. Lalbaugcha Raja is the popular Ganesha idol of the Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal. The mandal was founded in 1934 at Lalbaug Market by fishermen of the Koli community. In 2023, the Lalbaugcha Raja Ganapati will enter its 90th year. The idol gives darshan to the devotees for 11 days and is then immersed in the Arabian Sea at Girgaon Chowpatty on the day of Anant Chaturdashi.
2. Chinchpoklicha Chintamani
Chinchpoklicha Chintamani is the idol of one of Mumbai's oldest sarvajanik Ganesh mandals, which was established in 1920. This Pandal in Chinchpokli is known for its unique themes and elaborate decorations. It also hosts cultural events and competitions.
3. Khetwadi Cha Raja
The Khetwadicha Ganraj Pandal in Khetwadi, Grant Road, is known for its impressive decorations and is popular among devotees. As per records, the shape of the Ganesh idol has not changed over the years, and the same idol maker has been creating the Ganesh murti, making it a unique feature and must-visit place during Ganesh Chaturthi.
4. GSB Seva Mandal
This Pandal in Mumbai’s King's Circle is known for its lavish decorations and unique themes each year. It is called the city’s richest mandal, as a lot of gold and silver are used to decorate the Maha Ganpati. It is also known for its social and cultural initiatives and attracts thousands of Ganesha devotees during Ganesh Chaturthi festivities.
5. Andheri Cha Raja
Located in Andheri, this Pandal is known for its creative and innovative themes that draw large crowds from Mumbai and other states. Elaborate decorations, artistic displays, and cultural events make Ganeshotsav and memorable one.
During Ganesh Chaturthi, devotees welcome Ganpati Bappa by installing Lord Ganesha idols in their homes on the first day of the festival. The idol is worshipped with great devotion for ten days and is then immersed in water after 1.5 days, three, five, or ten days.
