President Ram Nath Kovind on Monday greeted the people of India on the eve of Ganesh Chaturthi. "Ganpati Bappa Morya! Greetings and good wishes to fellow citizens on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. May the blessings of Lord Ganesh bring peace, happiness and prosperity to everyone's lives," said

"I extend my warm greetings and good wishes to the people of our country on the auspicious occasion of тАШGanesh ChaturthiтАЩ. Ganesh Chaturthi marks the birth of Lord Ganesh, who is revered as an embodiment of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune," Vice President Venkaiah Naidu tweeted.
He added, "In India it is a common practice to invoke and chant the name of Lord Ganesh before the start of any good work, so that all obstacles are removed and success is achieved. May this festival bring peace, harmony and prosperity in our country."
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also wished for a blessed Ganesh Chaturthi. Ganeshotsav 2019 will end on Anant Chaturdashi, September 12 with the immersion of idols in different water bodies. While big mandals immerse the idol on Anant Chaturthi, some do the immersion on one-and-a-half-day, third, fifth or the seventh day.
