Coconut Ganesha: 

Devotees in Bengaluru this year are worshipping an awe-inspiring 30-feet high Ganesha idol, which is made of at least 9,000 coconuts. According to media reports, the Ganpati idol has been installed near the Puttengally Ganesha Temple in the city. The reports further revealed that the eco-friendly Ganesh idol had been accumulated by more than 70 devotees who have been working on it for 20 days, before the festival.

Chocolate Ganesha: 

Harjinder Singh Kukreja, a restaurateur in Ludhiana, has once again created an admiring Ganpati Bappa’s idol made of above 100kg chocolate. For the fourth year in a row, the Sikh restaurateur has prepared the edible Lord Ganesha which will be immersed in milk for the Visarjan. After that, yummy chocolate milkshakes will be made and served to the underprivileged children.

Rudraksha, Conch Shell and Aloe Vera Ganesh Idols in Tamil Nadu: 

Many eco-friendly idols of Lord Ganesha were spotted around Chennai. One of them is the beautiful Ganpati idol made out of aloe vera leaves in Kolathur. Another idol of Ganpati Bappa made of Rudraksha adorned with garlands captivated the devotees of Poombukar Nagar. Idol made of the conch shell in Valampuri in Kolathur also made it to the headlines for its beautiful pattern.

Tree Ganesha: 

The concept of Tree Ganesha has been quite popular in the recent years. Dattadri Kothur, Mumbai-based artist created this idol which is made up of red mud, soil and has seeds inside it. After its immersion, fresh and beautiful plants will grow out of it. Similar concept has been adopted by farmers of Puducherry. These crafted idols could sprout into a plant after the ‘visarjan’ is done.

Eco-friendly Ganesha idols have been included during the festive time recently. Many government and non-government institutions are urging the devotees to opt for Ganesha idols that will affect the environment. The festival of Ganesh Chaturthi 2019 has only begun, and we are expecting a lot more enchanting moments in the coming days.
