Ganesh Puja is done during Madhyahna as it is believed that Lord Ganesh was born during Madhyahna Kala, which according to the Hindu, it is equivalent to midday. On the other hand, as per Drik Panchang, the time to avoid the moon sighting on September 12 and 13 is from 6:37 pm to 8:24 pm and 9:20 am to 9:03 pm respectively. People would bring beautifully handcrafted idols of the Vigana Harta or Buddhi Pradaayaka, Ganesha to their homes and do worship. On each day, different traditions are followed by different families.
