Friendship Day in India is celebrated on the first Sunday of August, this year it will be celebrated on August 5, 2018.
The Indian Cricket Team as we all know is like a close-knit unit with the cricketers being in each other’s company for large parts of the year; some friendship stories have characterised Indian cricket for long. As we celebrate the Friendship Day on the 5th of August, we list out some of the famous cricketers and their buddies.
Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan
The Delhi lads had known each other since their Ranji Trophy days when they represented Delhi together and both being Punjabi means they have a strong connection. Often picturized with their families together when on trips, both Virat and Shikhar are always in a jovial mood when together.

Zaheer Khan and Yuvraj Singh
Both Zaheer Khan and Yuvraj Singh made their debuts in Kenya in the Champions trophy in 1999, and there has been no looking back in their friendship ever since. We had seen their on-field camaraderie several times back in the days when Saurav Ganguly led the team.
Both have been quite frequent on the party circuits too and have done several ads together as well. Their invaluable contribution in the 2011 World Cup got India its second trophy, and few could forget their euphoric celebrations later.
MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina
Captain Dhoni and his deputy Suresh Raina at Chennai Super Kings are not only kings of the IPL but great buddies off the field too. Under Dhoni, Raina played a crucial role in India’s World Cup campaign of 2011 and starred in several victories.
The duo has had several essential partnerships in the middle order for India, and their proper understanding was reflected in their running between the wickets which was something extraordinary. Their daughters Ziva and Gracia are often snapped together on several occasions carrying on their father's friendship in the second generation too.
