Prime Minister Narendra Modi today extended Eid al-Adha greetings hoping that the festival of sacrifice deepens the spirit of compassion in the society. Modi tweeted saying, "Best wishes on Id-ul-Zuha. May this day deepen the spirit of compassion and brotherhood in our society." Bihar Governor Satya Pal Mallik and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also greeted the people of the state on the eve of Eid-ul-Adha festival. The Punjab government which had earlier included Bakri Eid has in the list of their restricted holidays, on Monday declared a gazetted public holiday on the occasion.
