Eid Mubarak 2018 Wishes: Narendra Modi, Ram Nath Kovind Join Twitterati in Extending Eid-ul-Fitr Greetings
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also extended Eid greetings saying he hoped the festival would strengthen a feeling of harmony and brotherhood in the society.
On the festival of Eid, politicians, actors, celebrities and others took to social media with wishes. Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed greetings on Eid saying, "Eid Mubarak! May this day deepen the bonds of unity and harmony in our society." President Ram Nath Kovind also greeted fellow citizens on Idu'l Fitr saying, "On the auspicious occasion of Idu'l Fitr, I offer my greetings and good wishes to all fellow citizens, and especially to our Muslim brothers and sisters in India and abroad. The culmination of the holy month of Ramzan is a moment of celebration. May it promote fraternity and understanding in our shared society."
Congress president Rahul Gandhi, Information and Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje actors Mahesh Babu, Sophie Choudry, Sanjay Dutt, Jr NTR, cricket Harbhajan Singh also tweeted Eid wishes. US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania also wished Muslims across the world on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also extended Eid greetings saying he hoped the festival would strengthen a feeling of harmony and brotherhood in the society. In his message, the CM said, "People share happiness by participating in each other's festivals and they respect each other's religion which strengthens the state and the country which helps in maintaining unity and integrity of the country even at times of adverse situation."
Greeting citizens on Eid, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu said, "I convey my heartiest greetings and good wishes to the people of our country on the joyous occasion of Id-ul-Fitr. Id-ul-Fitr marks the culmination of the holy month of Ramzan and signifies the traditional expression of brotherhood and understanding between people. The Festival inspires the mankind to enshrine the values of truthfulness and compassion in their day- to- day actions and conduct. May this festival bring peace, harmony and prosperity in our country."
Meanwhile, people offered prayers at the mosque across the country. Eid ul-Fitr which marks the end of Ramzan is celebrated by Muslims worldwide. The festival is celebrated on the first day of Shawwal, the 10th month of Islamic lunar calendar. Food is an integral part of the celebrations on this day. Muslims meet friends and family and exchange gifts on this day.
