Eid-e-Milad 2018 Celebrations: Arrangements Finalised at Kashmir's Hazratbal Dargah, Reviewed by Wakf Board Chief

Srinagar, November 17: Authorities in Jammu & Kashmir have finalised the arrangements at Jammu & Kashmir's Hazratbal dargah, where scores of devotees from all parts of the Valley throng on the occasion of Eid-e-Milad, also known as Mawlid, when Muslims commemorate the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
The arrangements were reviewed by J&K Wakf Board chief Khurshid Ahmed Ganai, who is also the Advisor to Governor Satya Pal Malik. Ganai chaired a meeting of top officials, including the Srinagar Municipal Commissioner Peer Hafizullah and Head of RTO Kashmir Akramulla Tak. Instructions were issued by Ganai to ensure uninterrupted water supply at the Hazratbal shrine, along with no electricity cut-off on the occasion of Mawlid. The RTO department has also been asked to make-way for smooth traffic of private vehicles and state buses coming from all parts of Valley to the dargah.
The Municipal Commissioner was asked to undertake a special cleanliness drive in the shrine's vicinity on the occasion of auspicious festival.
A delegation of clerics and locals in Hazratbal met the State Wakf Board chief and expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made by the administration.
Ganai subsequently visited the Peer Dastageer (RA) shrine and offered prayers. He directed the CEO Wakf Board and other officials to expedite the redevelopment work at the shrine. Specific orders were issued for repair and maintenance of washrooms and ablution areas. A section of devotees are also expected to pay homage at Peer Dastageer shrine, apart from visiting Hazratbal dargah on the occasion of Milad.
