The Shawwal crescent moon has not been sighted today, April 8, in the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Yemen, Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, Egypt and Palestine. Accordingly, the holy month of Ramadan shall complete 30 days on April 9 and Shawwal month will start from April 10. The Eid 2024 will be celebrated on the first day of Shawwal, Wednesday, April 10, in these countries.

The Australian Fatwa Council has issued an statement, saying the Shawwal crescent moon has been sighted in Australia today. Accordingly, Eid al-Fitr in Australia will be celebrated on April 9.

Muslims in Iran will Eid 2024 on Wednesday, April 10, as the Shawwal crescent moon was not sighted today. Shafaq News confirmed that Iran has announced Eid al-Fitr on April 10.

An announcement on whether the Shawwal crescent moon is sighted is likely to be made after Maghrib prayers.  If the crescent moon is sighted this evening, the ongoing Ramadan month shall end and Shawwal 1445 will begin from April 9 in UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Yemen, Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Palestine, Turkey and France. In this case, Muslims will celebrate Eid 2024 on April 9. If Muslims are unable to sight the moon, Ramadan shall complete 30 days on April 9. Subsequently, Eid al-Fitr will be observed on April 10.

Eid is celebrated on the first day of Shawwal, the month after Ramadan. If the crescent moon is sighted this evening, the ongoing Ramadan month shall end and Shawwal 1445 will begin from April 9 in UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Yemen, Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Palestine, Turkey and France.
