Washington, December 29: Former United States President Barack Obama extended Christmas wishes through a lovely post on his Instagram account. Obama posted a beautiful picture with his wife Michelle Obama with a caption, ”Enjoy the holiday season with the ones you love. Michelle and I wish you a very Merry Christmas!” In the picture, the former president is kissing his wife.
During Christmas, It is one of the traditions of kissing under the mistletoe as it believed to be very special to the Greek Goddess of Love, Frigga. The plant grows even in an extremely colder environment so it was viewed as a sacred symbol of restoring fertility and long life even. Some ancient groups also considered it as an aphrodisiac. In ancient times, visitors would kiss the hand of the host at Christmas parties under the mistletoe.
Earlier this month, Obama dressed in Santa suit and paid a visit to a children's hospital in Washington. A surprise visit from the former president had the children grinning ear to ear, as he also got along with him a sack full of toys. A video clip of the president's visit was posted on social media, and it has already garnered more than a million views. He danced, he sang, he gifted, and he made them all smile. Obama expressed gratitude to the staff members of the hospital.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump also wished people on the occasion of Christmas. He just tweeted 'Merry Christmas'. Trump is also facing criticism for his answer to a kid during an event organised by North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) for tracking Santa Clause. The President and the US First Lady Melania Trump appeared at NORAD to answer calls from kids who believe in the existence of Santa. The US President gave it a terrible onslaught by questioning a seven-year-old identified as Coleman if he believes in Santa Claus. “Are you still a believer in Santa?” Trump asked young Colemon, as reported by ABC News.
Merry Christmas!
