Mumbai, October 30: The festive season has already begun and people are now eyeing on lucrative offers during the festive season. To attract consumers and to increase footfalls during the festive period, various e-commerce firms have come up with exciting deals. The festive discounts will begin this  Dhanteras and will last till Bhai Dooj. This year, Dhanteras falls on November 5 followed by Chhoti Diwali on November 6, Diwali on November 7, Govardhan Puja on November 8 and finally Bhai Dooj on November 9.

Online shopping portals including Amazon, Myntra, Flipkart, Snapdeal and Shopclues have been flooded with offers to lure customers. Even before the Diwali festival could arrive, Amazon India has come up with Dhanteras offers where the e-commerce giant is offering up to 60% off on jewellery and kitchen products. A close look at the website showed that there are blockbuster deals on gold, silver, and diamond jewellery. The online platform is offering up to 60% off on copper products, up to 50% off on stainless steel, up to 60% off on gold and diamond jewellery among other offers.

On the other hand, online shopping platform Snapdeal is offering up to 60% off on gold jewellery, up to 50% off on silver coins and bars, minimum 50% off on silver jewellery and other lucrative deals at affordable prices. Other top deals include massive offers on electronic appliances and kitchen products.

Dhanteras also termed as Dhanatrayodashi or Dhanvantari Trayodashi, is the first day that marks the festival of Diwali in India. Dhanteras also marks the beginning of Tihar festival in Nepal. The festival is celebrated on the thirteenth lunar day of Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight) in the Vikram Samvat Hindu calendar month of Karthik.
