Christmas 2018 is almost here, and the people have a lot of things in mind to put in together before the jingle bell rings. It is not just the decorations, a couple from Devon in southwest England makes an unusual choice for dinner they would likely serve their guests. And it is roadkill at the feast table! Identified as 41-year-old Jim Alexander, Mirror reported that he has already collected nearly 50 fresh animal corpses from the roads near his home. Jim’s desire to reduce waste inspired him to collect these many in 2018 alone. He along with his 52-year-old beauty therapist girlfriend Betina Bradshaw, will serve their unique menu to their guests during this Christmas. But not everyone is impressed with his idea! “But actually, I do it because I can't stand to see the waste of life, and by taking the animals home and eating them I'm at least somehow reducing that waste,” Jim told the outlet. Jim cooks everything from Scotch eggs to pasties from his finds began to employ his unusual hunting methods to make the creatures’ deaths, “less futile.” And it has led to some unique menus that include dishes like fox and badger. Although some of them stinks because of all the bad things they eat, Jim has a solution to that as well. “I had to let the meat soak in milk, which neutralises it, and really stew it for a long time to try and get rid of the overpowering taste. Badger tastes very similar to pork, but fox has its own taste, which isn't particularly nice, so I usually try and mask it with a sauce or jerky.”
