Ernesto ‘Che’ Guevara – the Marxist revolutionary guerrilla leader, diplomat, military theorist, author and a physician – is one of the most iconic figures in the global history, who played an instrumental role in uniting the underprivileged sections of society. On his 91st birth anniversary, we commemorate the works of one of the biggest social reformers, whose ideas changed the way global intellects look at development and agencies like UNESCO designed their policies for marginalised sections of society.

Born in Rosario region of Santa Fe Province of South American country – Argentina – on June 14, 1928, El Che was one revolutionary whose thoughts initiated the International Monetary Fund to change its course from corporate-driven to society-driven approach. On his 91st birth anniversary, though not much has changed in terms of what the alma mater of the University of Buenos Aires fought for, the extent of diminishing the downtrodden to zero exists no more. Now, people rise against injustice, dictatorship, corporates, hunger, poverty, malnutrition and marginalisation with full force and dignity. Karl Marx 201st Birth Anniversary: Inspiring Quotes Celebrating the Greatest Socio-Economic Thinker's Vision for Proletariat Class

Though people across the globe get inspired by Che’s speeches, his journey from a physician to a revolutionary guerrilla leader has been more inspiring. The revered and reviled historical figure evolved into a quintessential icon of various leftist movements, not only in the South American continent, but his radical methodologies crossed the barriers of seven oceans. Inspired by the Left leanings and iconic German revolutionist Karl Marx, he left practising medicine after his famous motorcycle journeys to the entire South American continent. Remembering Che Guevara - Revolutionary Guerrilla Leader - on 91st Birth Anniversary

With a collection of over 3,000 books, El Che’s passion for reading Karl Marx, William Faulkner, André Gide, Emilio Salgari, Jules Verne, Jawaharlal Nehru, Franz Kafka, Albert Camus, Vladimir Lenin, Jean-Paul Sartre, Anatole France, Friedrich Engels, HG Wells and Robert Frost grew over the years from adolescence to his death bed.

However, his ‘hunger to explore the world’ initiated his first expedition in 1950 to a 4,500-kilometer (2,800 mi) solo trip through the rural provinces of northern Argentina on a bicycle. This helped him understand the actual economic and social situation of the country, which further crossed the international barriers and rest is an ‘Unforgettable’ history. Shaheedi Diwas 2019: Bhagat Singh's Appropriation by Socio-Political Right — Blunder of History?

Following this immense trip to the continent, the revolutionary El Che took birth and rose against discrimination against the people who had lost their ‘voice’. Along with his good friends like Fidel Castro and others, his methods to fight for justice for people of South American countries – where dictatorship had ruined the basic standard of living for poor people – gained momentum. Thereafter, Guerrilla warfare technique evolved, which even had threatened the United States of America.

Considering his opinion on the international IMF and global economic watchdog, El Che had kept his radical approach throughout his life and once said, "The International Monetary Fund is the watchdog of the dollar in the capitalist camp." His opinion against the corporates had also been inspirational to billions and led to social revolts worldwide. International Workers' Day 2019: Date & Significance of The Proletariat Festival Commemorating Struggle to Achieve 8-Hour Working Day.
