But now thousands of people have signed a petition seeking a change in the date of Halloween celebrations! Halloween is celebrated every year on October 31 but considering the celebrations are so vast and fun, some people want it to be pushed to Saturday. Halloween 2018 falls on a Wednesday and thus they have signed a petition on Change.org to move the holiday to the last Saturday of October henceforth. The National Petition is named Saturday Halloween Movement and is addressed to US President Donald Trump. It is a petition created by Halloween and Costume Association to move Halloween to the last Saturday in October to have a 'Safer, Longer, Stress-Free Celebration!' The petition also gives some statistics highlighting how Halloween celebrations turn dangerous. The numbers do bring in a concern as they mention of 3,800 Halloween-related injuries each year and children more than twice as likely to be hit by a car and killed on Halloween. Halloween is celebrated very enthusiastically and is among the favourite holidays of many youngsters. So not wanting to cram these celebrations into just one evening, people have asked it to be shifted to a weekend, which gives the entire Saturday and Sunday to revel in all the fun and joy. Halloween comes with a hangover, for kids or elders alike and so people do want an additional day to cure of all the spook, trick and treats. But while it may sound convenient, not all are in favour of the idea. They claim it is an idea just to receive more monetary benefits. The group has been slammed by some on social media.
