New Delhi, September 28: Shaheed Bhagat Singh, a revolutionary and one the most influential leader of the Indian freedom movement, was born on September 28, 1907. On the occasion of his 111th birth anniversary today, Twitterati remembered the legendary freedom fighter on social media. The Prime Minister took to Twitter and lauded Bhagat Singh's valour. He said Shaheed Bhagat Singh's valour motivates millions of Indians across generations.
The Congress too took to social media and paid tributes to Bhagat Singh. "Our tributes to Shaheed Bhagat Singh one of the most influential revolutionaries of Indian independence movement, on his birth anniversary. We draw inspiration from his sacrifice for the nation", the tweet read.
Ace boxer Vijender Singh paid tribute to the revolutionary.
Lalu Prasad's son Tejashwi Yadav said Bhagat Singh's courage, love, sacrifice has inspired generations of young Indians and will always continue to do so.
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar also remembered Bhagat Singh and tweeted his famous quote. "They may kill me, but they cannot kill my ideas. They can crush my body, but they will not be able to crush my spirit."
Union Cabinet Minister of Food Processing Harsimrat Kaur Badal took to Twitter and said let us strive to build India of his dreams.

Lesser Known Facts About Bhagat Singh
Bhagat Singh, born in Banga village of Faisalabad district (earlier known as Lyallpur) now in Pakistan's Punjab province in 1907. The legendary leader had refused to get married and devoted himself to the country. Bhagat Singh, who was hanged in the Lahore jail along with Shivaram Hari Rajguru and Sukhdev Thapar on March 23, 1931, left a strong impact during his lifetime. Bhagat Singh was just 23-year-old at the time. The three were sentenced to death for conspiring to kill John P Saunders, a British police officer, who had ordered brutal police action on independence movement leader Lala Lajpat Rai.
