Happy Dussehra 2019! The tenth day of Navratri, also known as Vijayadashami is here. The festival is celebrated all over the country with immense enthusiasm. Streets in the country are lightened up and hearts are filled with happiness and love. People celebrate the victory of good over evil by burning the effigies of Ravana. Dussehra celebrates the Hindu god Rama's victory over the demon king Ravana and the triumph of good over evil.  The story of Ravana depicts how Lord Rama wins his wife Sita back from Ravana, the demon king of Lanka. Therefore Ravan Dahan (burning the effigies of Ravana) takes place all across the country. It is said that you burn off the evil with the Ravana effigy and let goodness prevail. The day falls on the tenth day of Ashvin in the Hindu calendar marks the end of the nine-day festivity of Navratri. 2019 will see Dusshera celebrated on October 8, 2019. Dussehra is celebrated with various rituals, traditions and customs in different parts of the country.

Thane: The event will be celebrated at GCC Hotel and Club, GCC Club Road, Thane on October, 8 2019 from 7 pm onwards. The celebration will also include other fun events and DJ.

Sampoorna Ramlila: You can attend the Ravan Dahan at Lawns, Shriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra, 1, Copernicus Marg. The performance will take place for the 62nd year in a row and is one of the oldest Ramlilas in the country.

Nav Shri Dharmik Leela: Situated at 15 August Park, opp. Shri Digamber Jain Lal Mandir, Near Red Fort, this Ram Leela and Ravan Dahan event will take place on Vijay Dashmi. The Raavan Dahan at this Ramlila will have an effigy titled #metoo, to raise awareness about sexual harassment.

Ramlila Maidan Ajmeri Gate: The event will take place at Ramlila Maidan, Asaf Ali Road, Ajmeri Gate (near New Delhi Railway Station), Delhi. The Ravan Dahan event is organised by Shri Ram Lila Committee.
