Macy holds the title for the largest display of fireworks in the country and this year they have promised to add in more effects to the show. They also plan to have a waterfall of fireworks between the main towers of the Brooklyn Bridge.

Best Spots to Watch Fireworks in NYC

Manhattan: You can go to enjoy waterfront views from the Seaport District in Manhattan. One can enjoy unobstructed views near the lower East River. There are also elevated viewing areas in Broad Street, Pearl Street and Frankfort Street.​

Brooklyn Bridge Park: If open to the public, you can also enjoy the view of the fireworks from the park along the Brooklyn waterfront. Brooklyn Promenade located above the park is also a great place to catch some of the show.

Pier 15: This location in downtown Manhattan is among the listed places to celebrate the Fourth of July. You can also enjoy the accompanying barbecues,  music and open bars. It is among the most preferable spots to watch the fireworks show.

Fourth of July Cruise: One of the best ways to enjoy the fireworks is from the East River itself. There are special Fourth of July cruises, which promises a great party night out there. But since this is a ticketed event, you might have to check if the seats are still available.

Besides these Macy's also gives suggestions in lower Manhattan with a list of viewing points. Among the Macy's viewpoints are Robert F. Wagner Sr. Place and St. James Place, St. James Place, Montgomery Street, Cherry Street, Pike Slip and Market Street.
