Deepika Padukone looked gorgeous on her D-day and her happy pictures from different wedding ceremonies are still fresh in our minds. One of the most beautiful brides, we have ever come across, DP shone like the brightest star and we were content looking at her million dollar smile. The actress wore a red Kanjeevaram saree gifted by her mommy dearest for her Konkani wedding and later a golden saree for her reception, which was a tradition that she wanted to follow. Though ace fashion designer, Sabyasachi Mukherjee was asked to design her wedding trousseau, she was adamant on wearing her mother's choice for the most special days of her life. Yea, we are still digging those silk marvels bought from the House of Angad store in Bengaluru and we're planning to buy one (provided our pockets get slightly heavy, of course). Oh, yes, the saree worn by Deepika for her Konkani wedding and Bengaluru reception can be yours for a hefty sum of Rs 2 lakhs! Deepika's Konkani wedding saree was picked by the actress herself when she went shopping with mother, Ujjala Padukone. K Radharaman, founder and head designer of Advaya from The House of Angad store in his conversation with TOI revealed the intricate details about Deepika's saree and why the outfit was so special for the actress. He said, "Deepika liked this particular sari, which is a limited-edition design. This Kanjeevaram real zari brocade sari with a broad border is also significant as it has the gandaberunda (the two-head eagle that is the emblem of Karnataka state) motif in the body. The gandaberunda symbolises royalty and tradition in equal measure. The two heads also denote prosperity and wisdom, which is material and spiritual wealth. We are happy Deepika chose an appropriate design like this. During this shopping trip, she also picked another sari for her personal collection. We are proud that the Bengaluru girl wore a Bengaluru design for her wedding in Italy."
