And because it was Sonam Kapoor, Bollywood’s fashion flagbearer’s wedding, all of us were naturally waiting in anticipation to see her outfits for various ceremonies. Just like every bride, the lovely Kapoor girl looked like a million bucks. With a number of leading fashion designers and stylists behind Sonam’s every single look for the function couple with her million-dollar smile, the actress joins the list of most beautiful brides of all time. The designers in action at Sonam Ki Shaadi and made #EverydayPhenomenal were Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, Anuradha Vakil and Anamika Khanna. The trio was responsible for Sonam Kapoor’s outfits for Mehandi-sangeet, Anand Karaj ceremony and finally wedding reception functions.

First up is Sonam Kapoor’s look from the Mehandi night on May 6 where henna was applied at her hands and feet. The mehndi ceremony took place at Anil Kapoor's Bungalow at JVPD, Juhu, Mumbai. We saw Sonam dressed up in pastel pink and lilac sharara suit with a matching dupatta designed by Anuradha Vakil. It was a simple yet classic creation that was completely in sync with Sonam’s simple makeup and hairstyle. As for jewellery, the actress just wore huge statement earrings and was ready to enjoy her mehndi night. Yes, underneath the heavy embellished lehenga, the actress wore a pair of Nike flip-flops.

Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s mehandi and sangeet function was held on May 7 at Sunteck Signature Island in BKC, Mumbai. And for this function, designer duo Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla designed an ivory-gold lehenga choli keeping the 'shades of white' theme for the function in mind. The lehenga with a finely detailed piece of chikankari looked stunning when accessorised with the polki and golden jewellery consisting of jhumkas, maang tika and bracelets. Sonam wore her mother, Sunita Kapoor’s choker necklace. And, the gajra around her braided hair added to her elegant look.

Admit it, we all could not stop staring at Sonam Kapoor when the first pictures of her bridal avatar emerged. Calling her beautiful is certainly an understatement; Sonam looked divine in the traditional shaadi ka lal joda. However, what was surprising to her followers was her choice of the designer. She opted to go with Anuradha Vakil over her regular designers and we must say the Gujarat-based designer did a fine job with Sonam’s main wedding dress.

The stunning red and gold lehenga was accessorised with an impressive collection of jewellery. Continuing with her love for choker necklace, Sonam also wore a guttapusalu necklace design. The matha patti (head band) Amrapali Jewels, earrings, kaliras, red and white choodas completed Sonam Kapoor’s look for the Anand Karaj ceremony, a traditional Sikh ceremony where the bride and groom tie the knot. Because I’m a bindi loving person when it comes to ethnic looks, I really wish Sonam had adorned bindi; however, that’s just my opinion.

Right after the marriage ceremony took place, Sonam changed into a more comfortable outfit. She wore a pastel pink and lilac lehenga by Anamika Khanna. With heavy statement earrings, red chooda, mangalsutra, sindoor and gajra in her hair tied up in a bun, Sonam was ready to cut the wedding cake with her husband, Anand Ahuja.

Coming to the most glamorous function of her wedding ceremony, the reception party where Sonam wore a stylish Anamika Khanna lehenga with a modern twist. Sonam looked stunner in the metallic grey chevron printed lehenga with a full sleeved blouse and sheen dupatta. In the jewellery department, the actress chose a heavy four-layered diamond necklace. With bold red lips and sleek straight hairstyle, Sonam was ready for the best night of her life.

We all saw how Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s wedding reception turned into a dance battle with the likes of Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan with Ranveer Singh and Varun Dhawan having a blast.
