The Costume Institute Gala at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art is the biggest event on the fashion fundraising calendar. The benefit is held to encourage donations from New York’s high society. Most famous faces from the realms of fashion, film, music and art come together to raise money for the Met’s Costume Institute and celebrate the grand opening of its latest exhibition. This year’s theme is ‘Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination. While there were celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Rihanna and our very own Bollywood queen Priyanka Chopra and more who displayed the theme to the T, there were some who committed a sin with their fashion faux pas. Worst Dressed Celebs at Met Gala 2018 Red Carpet

1 Kate Moss

The 44-year-old supermodel hasn’t attended the Met Gala in years and while she did so this year, she rather appeared plain and boring. She wore a simple Yves Saint Laurent cocktail dress for a theme that lends itself to opulence and imagination.

2 Sarah Jessica Parker

The Sex and the City fame actress went all out in an outrageous gold brocade gown by Dolce & Gabbana. The outfit was adorned with red hearts and to top that of she wore an ornate headpiece. Girl, you were supposed to be a fashion icon!

3 Kylie Jenner

The 20-year-old reality star and boyfriend Travis Scott made their red-carpet debut on Monday and the pair wore black. Kylie wore a dress by Alexander Wang along with a slicked-back hairstyle and angular sunglasses, but the dress left the fans underwhelmed by the plain look. Maybe Kylie should have consulted her fashionista sister Kim Kardashian.

4 Miley Cyrus

Otherwise known for her wild and bold clothes at such red-carpet events, Miley left little to almost no imagination with black gown. Miley wore a low-cut Stella McCartney dress which was depressingly basic.

5 Mindy Kaling

Well, it looks like Mindy is all set for her coronation ceremony. Kaling wore a massive gold crown featuring giant light blue gems for the occasion. She wore a shimmering silver gown by designer Vassilis Zoulias and navy opera-length gloves. Not impressed at all.

These celebrities did turn heads but certainly not in the right way. From boring, plain to uninspired designs, these outfits did not fit among the best dressed celebrities. The Met Gala 2018 theme is being cited as the Met’s most controversial yet, owing to the positioning of these fashion garments alongside sacred artefacts.
