US President Donald Trump's 'zero tolerance' Immigration policy has been a topic of too much controversy in the past few weeks. To add fuel to that raging fire, was Melania Trump's outfit when she visited the separated children in a detention center. When Melania Trump visited Texas at a detention center in McAllen she wore a Zara jacket worth $39 which had the words, "I REALLY DON’T CARE, DO U?" written on them. Her sartorial choice raised a debate about the hypocrisy shown by the First Lady. But now various versions of the same jacket are auctioned for huge bucks, as good as $1000 on eBay.
Melania Trump's wore a khaki green jacket on her arrival and the message printed on her jacket gave out a 'least-bothered' message. Although she changed her jacket in the plane, the message was not easy to be ignored. It was bold, in plain sight, so people were clearly not impressed and the rage continued. It was a Zara jacket whose many versions are now n the eBay website.
One of the jackets is bidding for $610, there is another bid for $895. While someone else has already purchased the otherwise stylish piece for $500. What's surprising is Melania's jacket originally wore costs just $39. Following the controversy, it has high bidders. It has also become an easy way for similar brands to make the product and cash in on the controversy item. Another brand called Wildfang has altered the phrase to "I Really Do Care, Don't U" and it is marketed for feminist fashion. The knockoffs saying "I Really Do Care" are also designed to raise money to help the immigrant families. The attire which was once targeted for its insensitivity has people buying it at impossible prices, wonder who is hypocritical now?
