Step 1:

Prime your eyelids. Always prime your skin for anything. Prime skin for base makeup, prime eyes for eyeshadow. If you don’t have an eyeshadow primer, use your concealer as a blank canvas. To not prime is a crime.

Step 2:

Use tape to angle your eyeshadow. It’s very easy to make sunset eyes look asymmetrical and wonky. And when sunset eyes are not aligned, it looks like your eyes are shaped weird. Make sure you the angle right on both eyes.

Step 3:

Use a bright warm-toned colour along your crease and up to the transition area. Start by blending it along the crease and slowly brush it upwards. Blend it as close to your brows as you like. Don’t add more colour as you blend upwards. Use the remaining pigment on your brush as you blend above your crease.

Step 4:

Start packing on a dark shade on your lids. Start by packing it as close to your lash line as possible and stop at the crease. Take a clean brush and blend the transition shade and dark shade keeping it in the crease, as much as possible. Don’t blend on the lid, just the crease.

Step 5:

Once you’re happy with the blending of the two shades, take translucent powder of a fresh brush and lightly brush on the brow bone. Add highlighter under the brows if you like and that’s it. At this point, you can add a darker shade along the lashline or a simple eyeliner. Finish the look by removing the tape and with mascara or false lashes.

If you don't like putting in all the efforts in blending, start by packing on your favourite shade right at the base and blend upwards. if you need more colour from the shadow, start by adding at the base and blending upwards only. If you want to make your sunset eyes pop, use the opposite colour of your eyes on the colour wheel to create the look.
