The last ten years is undoubtedly the decade of the brow. We have made a long departure from the embarrassingly thin, pencil-drawn eyebrow era of the 90s (a la Kate Moss) to a natural, more fuller-looking brows of the 2010s. Fuller brows or a ‘strong brow game,’ reflects youth and vitality. It no surprise why women have been craving thicker and darker brows these days and looking up to celebs like Cara Delavigne and Sophie Vergara have always rocked the thick brows. Today, we have an array of makeup products, catering specifically to the eyebrows. Eyebrow growth serums have also been flying off the shelves ever since the beauty world embraced natural-looking brows.

But trust the internet to take a good thing and make it much weirder. This, unfortunately, also happens to be the era of Instagram eyebrows. Influencers capitalising on the brow brouhaha have launched some of the weirdest eyebrow trends of the social media. These Instagrammers show us that the furthest your eyebrows look from how God meant it to be, the better it is. Here are some of the weirdest, edgiest and wackiest eyebrow trends of Instagram.

1 Halo Eyebrows

The newest among the weird-brow trends is halo brows, guaranteed to make you feel squeamish inside. Also called as the reverse unibrow, the trend involves joining the outer ends of your eyebrows to form a halo-like abomination between your forehead.

2 Feather Eyebrows

As the name suggests, this trend involves using a tonne of products to shape your eyebrows into looking like a plume. First, apply some sticky product like a hair gel or glue to your eyebrows. Make a crease right in the centre of the eyebrow and fan the hair outwards with the mascara brush. Good luck if you can pull off this look.

3 Boxed Eyebrows

It may seem as if the brows were shaved in places to create a “boxed” look. But the makeup artist has simply glued her eyebrows down and drew boxes along her eyebrows to create this look.

4 Crown Eyebrows

To give a touch of regal grandeur to your face, try the crown eyebrow trend. Like the others, it involves copious amounts of gel or Vaseline to style sections of the brows upwards like spikes of a crown and sticking a glittering rhinestone on each of those spikes.

5 Nike Eyebrows

These were two words we thought will never be used together. But what do you know! Huda Kattan, the brain behind Huda Beauty introduced the world to yet another unsettling brow trend that will make your eyes hurt just by looking at it.

6 Squiggly Eyebrows

If you can’t wriggle your eyebrows like a certain Miss Priya Prakash Varrier, you can create an optical illusion of a wriggling brow. This may look silly, but make no mistake – it’s not photo manipulation. The squiggly brows involve a creating a wave-like appearance with an eyebrow pencil and some concealer.

7 Peacock Eyebrows

If feather brows are too dull for you, try peacock brows. It involves going a step further than father brows and painting a peacock feather at the tip.

8 Barbed Wire Eyebrows

Barbed wire tattoos are one of the most unimaginative tattoo trends. But you wouldn’t say the same about barbed wire eyebrows. Smear a bit of glue or gel on the brows, section each into four parts and smooth them up and down alternatively for a barbed-wired appearance.

9 Dragon Eyebrows

Can’t have a dragon of your own? Don’t sulk. Fashion your brow into one. It’s like crown brows minus the rhinestones.

10 McDonald’s Eyebrows

Fast food lovers can pay homage to arguably the biggest contributors of obesity in the modern world by concealing their brows and drawing the McDonald’s arc over each of the.

11 Breadcrumb Eyebrows

What better way to show that you spent the afternoon with your face buried inside a loaf of bread than with some breadcrumbs on your brows. This Instagrammer has styled her eyebrows using real breadcrumbs.

What may have started as a harmless joke has ballooned into something strange yet fascinating, with one beauty blogger trying to outdo the other, one bizarre eyebrow trend at a time. With a new one once in every while, there are no signs of these zany trends dying anytime soon.
