H&M Launched its Online Store in India; Have the Latest Fashion Delivered to Your Doorstep

Swedish fashion retailer Hennes & Mauritz (H&M) today announced the launch of its online store in India with the aim to further accelerate its growth in the country. H&M entered the Indian market in 2015, and ever since has expanded its sales points with 29 stores in 12 cities across the country. Opening an online store will be the brand’s biggest draw ever since the brand came to India. The company is said to bring its full product range to customers in India with H&M’s Shop Online offering a wider range of collections with exclusive ‘online-only’ pieces available all year round.

Starting today, the high street retailer will make its ladies, men’s, teens, kids, H&M Sport, accessories, plus-size, maternity wear and complete collection of lingerie available to customers pan India via e-commerce. H&M India country manager Janne Einola told PTI, “India will be the 45th global market where H&M has started online stores.” He said the move will help H&M strengthen its fashion offer in metro cities and extend access to tier 2 and 3 cities across India, where it doesn’t have stores present. With an aim to bring synergies between its online and offline stores, H&M has also introduced the scan-and-buy feature that allows customers to buy products online if appropriate size is not available in physical stores by scanning barcodes. Payment will be accepted by cards and cash on delivery (COD) methods. With the advent of going online with their merchandise, customers will be able to avail host of offers, including free delivery and discounts for sign ups.

Keeping in mind the current seasons and trends, H&M is currently stocked high with essentials for the summer. Floral separates, soft pastels, dainty lace, sunglasses, your starter pack for the upcoming warmer months is available online now. Speaking about the sales expectations from the online store, the country manager said, “Globally for H&M, the share of online sales to the overall sales is 12.5%. Let’s hope that in India it is even bigger and is the strongest.” Further adding he said that most of the pin codes will be covered in India except for a few. The deliveries will take place through third-party partnership.
